We are supposed to have gusts up to 50 tonight. At leasts it's not too bad right now
Talking with my friend in California and she said
it's getting really windy over here. It's almost 6 mph winds.
I wrote back
you can come over here. We only have 50(ish) mph winds
she stopped complaining pretty fast
On the one hand, I'm super happy that I've been able to keep writing so consistently for Witch and Monkey... Especially since it means I have pretty solid buffers on both stories...
On the other... Yeah... It's exhausting... I don't know how writers who post frequent updates do it without burning out or going absolutely stark-raving mad... ((Calm Wind, I'm looking at you right now... ))
so the way things are in my life right now I won't be able to post chapters like I did for a while. can't afford the internet costs and my life is a disorganized cluster duck right now. I would right these at home and get them polished when I came here to use McDonalds internet, but as a closet brony that lives in the living room with my vulgar and rude brother and more his than my friend that is a thousand times worse, both of which would never let me hear the end of me being a brony and would
OK I have to admit when it comes to writing , Calm wind and his team have got it down! Everyone of his stories I have read has made me, as a reader want to dive right into the story and be apart of it. He does a really good job of making sure each character has a different personallity, and is always able to keep you on the edge of your seat. There were sevral times I would be waiting for the new chapter, I would cheak the website everyday for the update. Most of the time when I read different
So, I've been reading the Head in the Clouds trilogy by Calm Wind, (which I would highly recommend), recently and discovered many fanworks. Now, there are other reading lists out there, but they seem to be incomplete, or not including the original stories. Therefore, I have decided to make one myself. Or, at least, as close as I can get. Be warned, there are times when 5+ fics happen at the same time but needed to be spaced out within the list.
Few key things:
Also there's basically no fan content about her! Couldn't find a single fic. So what if she's an unnamed background pony with exactly one line in the entire series run? When has that ever stopped you weirdos???
I would just like to say a HUGE thank you to Sylvian for listening to my crazy ramblings over the last 24 hours about stuff for Chapter 9, and where I'm going eventually with this story. I'm also super stoked to see Syl have Witching Hour make a cameo towards the end of his story.
As part of my slow but inevitable conquest the continued spontaneous goodness of others' hearts, another one of my stories has been translated into another language. In this case, it's Solar Wind into Russian. Thanks to GrandCat for taking the time to do so. For anyone interested, you can see the translation here.
Just thought I'd mention that I won the November 2019 Flashfic contest today!
Feels good, though now I have to come up with next months prompt.
You could find the story in the thread, or as the latest chapter ("The Wind") in the tagged anthology.
The part below the line, anyways. The beginning is the usual connecting anthology framework.

Over two weeks ago, I published The Wind Changed, and it's about time I got to talking about it. It was written forthe FTP competition over on the brilliant review group, Rage Reviews. It won the overall competition, which I am very pleased about, as you can
For all true fans of that Wonderbolt who's been around forever and only ever got a line of three words once in Season 6.
If I actually get my next fic done in time, there will at least be one entry in the "Mentions High Winds" folder in five days. Hooves crossed!
Hello everyone.
For those of you who are friends with Cherry-Lei, you'll know she gives excellent tips and critiques for writing styles which I think all budding fanfic writers could learn from.
Taking a letter from her book, I've felt the wish to try my own hand at this.
How to establish a character in one short but meaningful scene.
So, I am not dead. I do live! My life has just been full of... well... bleh, really. being a shift lead can really kill ones creative muse for a time. But it is slowly returning! I have plans in store for my stories. Different breed and Embers story, for now, are on the back burner.
Most of this was written as a response to a comment by Bad Horse asking me why I dislike FlutterDash. At his recommendation I decided it deserved a blog post in it's own right, so I expanded it some. This is just how I ship, how I like to read romance. Other opinions are just as valid.
Hey, everyone. Been a while, hasn't it? Especially concerning any news whatsoever on pretty much...any story of mine, really.
The pandemic has been hard for us all, especially for me. I have virtually no energy for writing anymore because of how depressing everything is and how isolated and imprisoned I always feel because of how stupid people are about taking the disease seriously.
But that's not why we're here right now.
The Wind
Oh blow away, go away, I say,
Come back oh please, cool me off,
Then it says, “How am I to please you?"
"How can I answer every whim?"
"Tell me, oh please, the answer,
And please don't change your mind"
I said, "You come on cold days,
And you don't on warm,
Tell me why you change?"
And it said, "I go where needed,
I cannot always be here and there,
For I am bound to nowhere,
Now I must go, do not try to follow,
For you cannot catch the wind."

Well, this is going to be an interesting review in light of season 6's finale.
